Attempting to paint a more complete picture
Thank you for writing this. As someone who has family & family friends in the Chinese healthcare system, I've long been told that rampant abuse of abortions as birth control, often due to poor sex education, misinformation, and other systemic problems, is greatly damaging female reproductive health. I also witnessed it myself, personally, amongst my Chinese female friends.
It's sad that an effort to *help* females (especially those who are disadvantaged, by age, education level, or income) can be so misconstrued because of a willful misreading of the official document.
Very interesting read. I read online that abortions are one of the safest procedures but China's NHC says otherwise. Why is there a disconnect?
