I hope to contribute to a better understanding of China news by writing here. I wish to post at least one article a week - there could be more.
This is a purely personal initiative. I’m not paid by anybody - at least not yet - and any content here, especially any views, are solely my own, not of my employer or anybody else. Mostly, my motivation is my belief that despite numerous sources of China news and analysis available worldwide, there is still a tremendous gap to bridge, especially at such turbulent times.
I recognize it’s nearly impossible to avoid bringing any personal views into one’s writing, but I always think the world is not in shortage of views, so I will try to restrain my own here.
The name of this newsletter is perhaps highly inappropriate - I haven’t even been based in Peking for any extended period of time, nor am I an expert or authority on anything. But it needs a name and I just like the English-language word Pekingnology.
I should add that I will probably be unable to provide any exclusive news. So you are unlikely to find anything truly original in the sense that there would be any “scoops”.
