Bingo. Precisely why I've been questioning Zichen on his call of Beijing seeking concessions to invest in the U.S. Why do so when they're at peak bankruptcy + on the brink of societal collapse/chaos?
With no offense to Zichen - and it's not like I'm sure of being right - but it just doesn't compute in my brain. China's path for reforming the international order is wide open, the U.S. leadership continues getting weaker and weaker. It just takes boldness and some creativity, and it should be possible.
