"The dominant search engine in China, where Google isn’t available"? Google never got above 10% of China's search traffic when it was available. It's departure–like FB's and Twitter's–was entirely voluntary: it would not keep Chinese data in China and follow Chinese laws.
Thankyou for bringing up this speech, very interesting. I liked the "Technology development does not have a roadmap, only a compass. (and thus, iterate)". It is interesting that Baidu has not been touched during the last 2 years of regulatory push (it got pushed very hard after the 2016 incident).
